Beginning with this painting, I have decided to stop commenting on my paintings on the website. The main reason is that I don't want to spoil the discovery process and some people may want to just let the art speak for itself. When I was a teenager, seeing a movie was great because you hadn't seen half of it already on TV for 2 months in ads being blasted on every channel. Once you've seen so many previews, you cannot view the movie fresh and that's a shame. If I had seen a month of previews of the original Star Wars in 1978, it would not have awed me like it did when I just walked in off the street and watched it. It really is true - you never have a second chance to make a first impression.
